Each year, Premier Eye Care donates to Prevent Blindness Florida (now Preserve Vision Florida) in an effort to help people preserve their sight. Preserve Vision Florida thanks Premier Eye Care for this extraordinary commitment to our shared mission of improving vision care for all our nation’s citizens.
Allegany Franciscan Ministries has awarded Prevent Blindness Florida (now Preserve Vision Florida) three major grants. We currently hold a Major Grant to provide adult vision screenings in Hillsborough and Pinellas.
The Children’s Board of Hillsborough County funds Preserve Vision Florida to provide children’s vision screenings and parent education. Through this program, we screen Hillsborough County children and provide eye exams and glasses for children needing them. Screenings take place throughout the county – in preschools, community programs, and the Children’s Board Family Resource Centers. We also educate children and parents about vision health and safety at home, at play, and during sports.
The Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County funds Preserve Vision Florida to provide children’s vision screenings and parent education. As part of the education sessions and screenings, we provide medical vision services and eye wear if needed. JWB believes in investing in children and strengthening the Pinellas community.
The Community Foundation Tampa Bay is a 501 (C)(3) nonprofit that connects people and resources to inspire charitable giving and create a meaningful, lasting impact on our region serving Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties. Preserve Vision Florida holds endowment funds with the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay. Proceeds benefit ongoing operations that make the vision health program possible.
Early Childhood Council of Hillsborough County — Preserve Vision Florida has partnered with ECC for almost two decades. As partner in the Community Developmental Screening Program, Preserve Vision Florida provides for early identification and intervention of vision issues to ensure that young children with developmental concerns receive the help they need in order to enter Kindergarten ready to learn and succeed.
The Seeing Lakeland Vision Screening Program, sponsored by the GiveWell Community Foundation, provides free vision screenings to children and adults, utilizing health services at Lakeland’s clinic of the Polk County Health Department. Prevent Blindness Florida (now Preserve Vision Florida) also screens with Family Fundamentals, Girls Inc. of Lakeland, and the Boys & Girls Club of Lakeland.
Health Department of Pinellas County — The Florida Health Department’s mission is to protect, promote & improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county and community efforts. The Pinellas County Health Department funds vision screenings and provides eye exams and glasses for adults who are enrolled in the Blue Card program.
United Way Suncoast provides pathways to education and financial stability that create better opportunities for everyone in our community. Preserve Vision Florida is a funded partner in the Early Learning Community Investment Program. This initiative partners with programs whose interventions ultimately lead to children entering kindergarten ready to lean and reading on grade level by 3rd grade. Preserve Vision Florida provides services in Hillsborough, Pinellas, and DeSoto. Children receive vision screenings and family assistance to secure eye exams and glasses for children. Parents and children receive education about vision health and safety.
